VINCE BRIFFA
PICTUREBOX is headed by Vince Briffa, a TV and film director
with vast experience in the production of commercials and documentaries
for television, and a long term involvement in the world of post-production
and computer graphics. After studying Fine Arts at Edinburgh College of
Arts in Scotland, Vince worked in the graphic arts field for several years,
specialising in illustration and art direction. From design for print he
moved into TV production after a period of training on Quantel Paintbox.
Besides being winner of the Art Director's Award and the Best Commercial
Award (Direction) for 1995 in the Malta Advertising awards and the Best
Design Award by Zanders of Germany, Vince is also an accomplished fine artist
in his own right who has held solo exhibitions in London (BH Gallery), Frankfurt
(Gallery Glage), Florence (Galleria Renzo Spagnoli) and Malta (National
Museum of Fine Arts and Museum of Archaeology). He has also participated
in numerous collective exhibitions namely the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition
and Christie's Auction Rooms in London; Maltese artists in Cairo, Alexandria,
Moscow and Paris; the Edinburgh Festival in Scotland and the Museo del Risorgimento
in Rome. His works hang in public and private collections in Malta and abroad.
